1. Use the send to reviewer option when the patient is a newborn and no Medicaid was found.
2. Use the send to reviewer option when commercial insurances are inactive.
3. It is only necessary to select ‘yes’ in the Ready for Passport field on the primary insurance tab if there are multiple insurances on the account.
4. Use the mini response tab in the PIC to verify all insurance coverage information.
5. A green checkmark indicates that the insurance submitted from Cerner to Passport is correctly coded in Cerner.
6. ‘Recipient is Eligible’ indicates the patient has active health coverage benefits.
7. You must populate the “Subscriber Name on Card” field in Cerner with the name on every kind of insurance.
8. The message “Response Received (Unable to Determine Coverage)” in the PIC indicates that Kansas Medicaid is inactive.
9. Use the ‘Send to Reviewer’ option for patients with new accounts.
10. If you have re-coded an account per Passport, you do not have to re-run the insurance through Passport.
11. If a parent gives an address that doesn’t match the guarantor address information returned by Passport, open your Work Center and send the discrepancy to ‘Send to Reviewer’.
12. The green check mark next to ‘Guarantor Address Verification’ indicates there were address matches found in multiple databases.
13. It is not necessary to click on the blue box for Address Verification that appears after the registration has been filed away.
